General Catch Up

I thought it time for another one of our updates I know you all look forward to reading. Things have been a bit slow since our trip to Paris, but we have done a few cool things - including London Zoo and going to see The Offspring!

One of the reasons we have not done a lot is because we been having trouble with our flatting situation, which has provided a lot of stress... and my work mates/friends a lot of entertainment. I will probably write a dedicated blog about that for you all to have a good laugh at in the near future (it is really pretty funny).

One really cool thing we have done is both acquired bicycles! Both riding to work most days which is good for fitness and saving us a lota money. We have also been on a couple of huge excursions all over the city discovering parts we had not seen before.

A couple of weeks ago we went to the London Zoo. It was a lot of fun – the highlight for me being the huge Galapagos tortoises. Rochelle loved the Anteaters. There was one awesome enclosure that housed the monkeys. You walked right through with nothing between you and the animals. They had staff walking around telling people to put away their camera's, though, as apparently the monkeys will snatch them right out of your hands and run up the trees. We also saw enourmous snails (as big as your fist!) jellyfish, snakes, lizards and a Tucan (which I couldn't get a decent picture of grr). We searched everywhere for a kiwi to no avail :(

Last night we went to see The Offspring at the Brixton Academy - such a good venue. And they frikken rocked. Only bad thing - I was (and still am) sick as a dog! Perfect timing eh.

That’s about all really. Our weekends for the last month can be summed up in a few simple activities – exploring on our bikes, lazing in the sun eating BBQ and drinking beer - enjoying the summer while it lasts, or watching the All Blacks at the pub.

We have quite a lot planned for the next few months -
- Next weekend is a long weekend - so we want to get out of London. Maybe Brighton if the weather is nice.
- Rochelle’s sister Bridget and her husband Aaron are coming over for a wedding early next month – so we plan to spend some time with them.
- We are off to Scotland with our friends Shaun and Sarah on the 11th September for lots of Haggis, Loch Ness Monster spotting and just generally doing our thing. Should be fun.
- Friends of ours, Damian and Ryan, are coming over in October so I’ll have to school them on the ways of London.
- November - we have a huge trip planned for 2-3 weeks. We have not planned the exact route but we would like to see the south of France, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Czech, Poland, south of Germany and Switzerland. We had planned to go much earlier (next month) but Rochelle had trouble getting time off from work. It'll be cold, but we can handle it.
- We are going to see Rise Against in November
- Shaun and I hope to get in a weekend snowboarding in Norway sometime in December
- We are not too sure what we are doing for Christmas and New Years, but we plan to do something special.
- We still really want to get to Stockholm to visit my friend Richi, so we are going to try and fit that in somewhere too.

Other random stuff - me trying to ride a bike with the steering back to front

Some cool shots of London I took on one of our bike adventures.

So lotsa things to look forward to. I'll be sure to keep you updated.
